Huawei, world’s third biggest smartphone maker, has announced a new addition to its Ascend lineup, Huawei Ascend P6. Measuring only 6.18mm, the Ascend P6 is the world’s slimmest smartphone. Huawei has managed to pack in a powerful 1.5 GHz quad core processor in this sleek body.
The 4.7-inch HD in-cell LCD screen boasts of a new magic touch technology which allows users to operate the device using gloves. Although this is not a new function (as we have already seen it on the Lumia 920 launched last year,) it’s good to see Huawei include a similar technology in the device.
The Ascend P6 features an 8-megapixel camera BSI camera with F2.0 lens on the back which is capable of recording 1080p Full HD videos. On the front, you get a 5MP camera with auto facial enhancing capabilities. Further options like contrast and color enhancements, object tracking focus, auto scene recognition and instant facial beauty support will make sure that the pictures turn out good.
Huawei claims that its 2000mAh battery will be 30% more efficient as compared to smartphones with similar screen sizes. However, the company did not reveal any information on the run time of the phone with this battery. As expected, Ascend P6 will run on android 4.2.2 OS with the company’s Emotion UI. The device will be available in black, white and pink and will go on sale from June in China.
